Shura 'World's Worst Girlfriend' by Katie Lambert

Katie Lambert directs a delightful romantic fantasy for the return of electro-pop artist Shura.
In the video for World's Worst Girlfriend, Shura is at home in her pjs, playing Warhammer and very much in her own world. She's not paying much attention to her long-suffering girlfriend - but she dreams of doing much better.
Lambert sends Shura out of her everyday domestic setting, into her dreamscape: a Warhammer-inspired world where she is a somewhat hapless medieval knight, battling through the forest all in the name of saving her fair lady.
It's a great device that works wonderfully well due the production values that makes the blue-tinged knight's world as convincing as the modern world - the budget is clearly all on the screen. And it also works due to Shura's excellent performance of her role as a very imperfect partner-cum-determined heroic figure.
Really nice work from an all-female team, led by Lambert who is now really finding her feet as a director. She unapologetically embraces a proper feelgood ending, a Happy Ever After - which makes you want to watch it again.
