Alice Fassi directs an eye-watering, retro comedy-horror inspired promo for US duo Cults.
The video for Onions takes place in a charming 80s country house, where a sweet housewife is cooking her signature dish: onion soup. But beneath this perfect appearance lies a darker side. As she stirs the pot, she mixes in more than just onions. Her recipe calls for a chilling blend of deadly irony and sinister ingredients.
Heavily inspired by vintage horror, and featuring brilliant puppets reminiscent of Little Shop of Horrors, the video is a blast from the past, and an eccentric, gory yet sweet love letter to the genre.Â
