Douglas Hart and Steve Mackey - the former Pulp bassist-turned director - direct a grungy promo for Hot Chip's return with Down. 

The video is a lo-fi affair, blending gritty textures, abstract imagery and distorted layers of oversaturated footage. 

Paying homage to early music video experimentation, the compelling performances are contrasted against unusual, seemingly unrelated vignettes, which seem more inspired by the industrial beat than any lyrical content. It's all brought together in a terrific, kinetically-driven edit by Thomas Goldser.
