Philip James McGoldrick directs an affecting promo for ELDR - London-based artist and composer Marina Elderton.
Told as a dance re-enacting a hunt, the video for Deer Skin is a photographic movement piece exploring themes of abuse, coercion, subjugation, and racial violence.Â
Shot in grainy black and white, DoP Luciana Riso creates a high contrast, raw aesthetic which perfectly suits the concept, whilst McGoldrick's focus on performance helps anchor the surreal concept.Â
A disturbing yet thought-provoking visual.
