Yard Act 'A Vineyard For The North (Live from Utopia)' by Ja Humby
Rob Ulitski - 22nd Mar 2024
Ja Humby returns to his inventive Molten Jets live series - previous subjects have included King Krule, Franc Moody and shame - with a highly entertaining live performance by Yard Act in an unusual set.
The Leeds band play A Vineyard For The North - from just-released new album Where's My Utopia? - amid a virtual set build which takes inspiration from vintage animation, surrealism and the album cover. The group perform with confident gusto within this setting, establishing an atmosphere that's captivating - both vibrantly live yet also slightly uncanny.
This is an ambitious marriage of technology, creativity and performance craft, and the result is a very distinctive, even unique, live video.
