Joesef 'Joe' by Luis Hindman
Rob Ulitski - 21st Sept 2022
Luis Hindman continues his successful run of video collaborations with Joesef, this time for poignant track Joe.
The video explores the process of letting go of a relationship, told through a framework of a wrecked apartment and the memories which once filled it. Emotionally, things have changed - but physically, you're still in the exact same place.
Capturing a transcendent, illusory vibe that feels snatched straight from a memory, the video documents the highs, the lows and the inbetweens, seamlessly blending a stream of different emotions and snapshots of life together.
The exposed, stripped-back location and art direction perfectly reflect the themes in the track, and provide a minimalist structure for the couple's world to inhabit, until it breaks apart.
Raw, honest and consuming, it's a standout video, and arguably the best of Joesef and Luis Hindman's collaborations to date.
