Femi Oladigbolu dramatises singer-songwriter Myles Smith's personal story of family breakup in the video for My First Heartbreak.A young man walks through an empty house and finds an old-style phone with answering machine, playing the message from a father to his sons. The man then becomes his younger self, listening to the message for the first time. The memories of the adult and the experience of the child are intertwined, which underscores the traumatic experience of the story of a father abandoning his family. "I was truly moved by the vulnerability in the track," says Oladigbolu. "Its raw honesty wasn't too distant from my own experiences. I felt a deep connection to the lyrics and sought to weave that same truth and relatability into something his audience could genuinely feel."

Neil Linpow directs an extended music video/short film for Sorrel, following a couple wrestling with their own feelings about their relationship, whilst trying to do the best by their young children. Opening with a tense exchange between the pair, we switch between golden-hued 'memory' shots and dark, shadowy scenes from the present, exploring the contrast in the two periods of their family lives.Beautifully shot and graded, it's a wonderfully-performed, tightly conceptualised vision, well scripted by Linpow and strongly performed by Wim Snape and Jamie Melrose as the troubled couple. "The idea with the film was to create a story that complimented the beautifully poignant lyrics of the song," says Linpow explains. "To tell the story of an untenable marital relationship from the perspective of their children."It was important to show both Mum and Dad as equally loving and valued parents who care deeply for their children - and as people who have tried to ‘stay together for the kids'. But ultimately, also as people who realise the difficult truth that perhaps being apart is actually going to be the best environment for everyone."We wanted to lean on the sadness of the lyrics, but also juxtapose that with a sense of whimsy that exists in the uplifting melody of the song - because as we all know - life is mixture of good days and bad, and it’s important that we highlighted that there is a lot of love underpinning the story."

Charlotte Meling directs an emotive promo for singer-songwriter Ashley Singh. Building on the success of the track online - it's already amassed over 15 million views on socials and 5 million streams in just three months - the video for Soul Tied explores the loss of someone special. Playing with dark and light to create a tangible portrayal of love now lost, the video uses lo-fi digital effects to create a contrast between the present and past. Anchored by a beautifully cinematic performance at its core, it's a bittersweet visual that brings the music to life in a fresh way. “Ashley Singh represents a new generation of artists who choose independence over the traditional record label approach, a trend that particularly appeals to the Gen-Z view on content ownership," says Meling. "This is something I am passionate about as a director - telling stories that touch and impact today's audience in new ways.”

Devon Kuziw directs a tender promo for indie star Dominic Wright. Shot on 35mm with hand cranking magic - courtesy of DoP Natasha Duursma - the video is an evocative trip into the artist's mind, punctuated by wistful memories of a relationship.With a soft, dreamlike vibe, the video exudes a sense of yearning, elevated by gentle performance and a candid, unobtrusive camera. An emotive debut for the artist, masterfully executed by Kuziw and team.
