ELI 'Too Much' by Jade O'Connor
Rob Ulitski - 29th Mar 2022
Jade O'Connor reunites with ELI for the introspective promo for Too Much.
In a nondescript industrial space, we see the artist travel down to a derelict basement to face her lover in an emotional battle.
Culminating in an abstract performance vignette, the video allows viewers to see a new side of the artist, and the intense, engaging concept perfectly encapsulates the themes of the track. It's a great follow-up to the pair's previous collaborations - Lover and Revelation - with a gritty, contemporary vibe.
"I wanted to showcase ELI’S dystopian reality as we follow her in a chaotic battle between herself and her desires." says O'Connor. "The ‘tug of war’ scene acts as a metaphor for the push and pull an abrupt end to a relationship can bring. [That feeling of] still wanting to go back even though you know you shouldn’t.
"From feeling disoriented, excited and back to derailed, you’re never quite sure what is coming next."
