The video for Fluorescent, subverts the classic TV performance with glitching bandmembers, red balaclavas and a bucketload of blood - and singer Djamila's funeral. "On the back of the success of Ithaca's second record They Fear Us - Kerrang's #2 album of 2022... - the idea for the Fluorescent video was to lean heavily into the aesthetic of the album artwork," says Cooke."We wanted to achieve a 70s texture and look, without it being pastiche or ironic - aiming for Old Grey Whistle Test meets Dario Argento."

Alex Southam directs a touching comeback promo for Robbie Williams, set in a TV studio where Robbie is being interviewed by none other than himself. Southam's video for Lost - and this is the Director's Cut - begins with the artist backstage of a talk show, ready to be interviewed by his suited-and-booted TV interrogator. Who turns out to be his döppelgänger. As Real Robbie is grilled by his alter-ego, it's a chance to recount some of the singer's most iconic moments on a TV screen on set. That adds to the air nostalgia, with a sense of him attempting to overcome regret, and trying to map out a way forward for the future. It's strong work by Alex Southam - and a fitting comeback showcase for the irrepressible Robbie.

On the set of a contemporary TV show, we are introduced to various behind the scenes staff, including a showrunner the artist is romantically involved in. Between the glitzy performance setups and entertaining vignettes, we see this romance develop as several other women have their eye on him. It's a glamorous affair, from the slick styling through to the effervescent lighting, and the video is already racking up the views in the millions.

Amitybloc direct a live visual for South London teen musician Flowerovlove inspired by vintage TV shows . In the middle of a vibrant orange set, we see the artist - otherwise known as Joyce Cisse - perform Get With You alongside her backing musicians, captured via a multi-cam set up. Exuding nostalgic vibes and a sense of feel-good energy, the directing duo's latest video for South London teenager is a simple yet perfectly executed concept. "Flowerovlove had some really clear references and knew exactly what she wanted: an old skool TV broadcast performance like The Doors and Nancy Sinatra," say Amitybloc."We meticulously studied them day and night to spot any small things that united them all. Clearly destined for a multi-cam set up, we used broadcast cameras and a simple but stunning set design."Once the first edit was finished, it still didn’t feel quite complete. So we managed to track down one of the original MCs for ATV back in the 50s who would usually introduce the musical performances. Funnily enough, he got her name completely wrong calling her 'flowers for love' not flowerovlove. Fortunately flowerovlove did this strange look to camera right at the start of the performance so it ended up looking like she was reacting to the mispronoucnation live on air."

JLS are back! Gray takes us on a journey through the history of pop, with JLS performing their comeback single Eternal Love as performing on TV at different points along a timeline, from the Sixties to the present day, via the Seventies and MTV-era Nineties. Each era is recreated with admirable attention to detail - particularly in the style and quality of the TV coverage - and this really works in order to make its bigger point about the timeless appeal of JLS - who indeed look and sound in fine fettle.
