Original Koffee ft Skillibeng 'RAPID FYAH' by Yoni Lappin

Promonews - 23rd June 2026
Yoni Lappin's return to music videos has been a while coming and it also marks a change of image by the artist formerly known as Koffee, now as Orignal Koffee. And together they make her homeland of Jamaica the real star of the show.
In the artful, documentary style of portraiture that was Lappin's signature back in the day, with Mura Masa's What If I Go? and others, the video for RAPID FYAH was shot over four days in Jamaica following extensive location scouting. Â
Filmed entirely on 16mm by DoP Jermaine Edwards (My Father's Shadow, Ish), the video's main subject are the locals - fishermen, schoolgirls, bikers, a marching band and cheerleaders - placed within a series of jawdropping landscapes on the island.
Featured artist Skillibeng is also strongly present in the film - a contrast to the laidback almost anonymous figure of Original Koffee - and the video was shot largely on the artists' home districts: St Thomas Parish and Spanish Town, Kingston.Â
Through the alluring combination of the visuals and the music we become immersed in the authentic sense, atmosphere and rhythms of Jamaican life. Â
