Supermodel 'Seventeen Days' by Joe Connor & Emile Rafael

Promonews - 5th May 2026
Joe Connor and Emile Rafael co-direct a stunning, action-packed video for their ongoing music project Supermodel that explores technology, addiction and modern anxiety.
The second Supermodel video, following Push in 2024, marks a step up in scale from that critically acclaimed visual. The video for Seventeen Days centres around an extended, choreographed fight sequence that runs through the full piece, pushing it beyond traditional music video structure.
It's a visceral exploration of addiction, an internal war driven by the pull of power and control. At its heart is an ominous black orb embodies that consumption.
Rafael and Connor write the music and lyrics collaboratively - a shared creative outlet, developed alongside their independent directing careers - with Connor as the Supermodel vocalist.
Of the new project, Connor says: “We’re grappling with more complex ideas now:technology, addiction, dependency.”
Rafael adds: “Emotion comes first. If it doesn’t leave you with something, the rest doesn’t matter.”
The video was co-produced by Rogue, Closer, FutureFrank and La Pac, with cinematography by Martijn Melis with VFX by Agile lead by David Horsburgh, colour by Thomas Mangham at Black Kite Studios - and an explosive edit by Hannah Yerbury at Marshall Street Editors.
