Léa Esmaili directs a hugely imaginative, high-concept visual feast for the return of Ashnikko, introducing the alt-pop provocateur's new range of new bizarre personas - and they all have one thing in common.

Blending live-action with bursts of playful stop-motion and CG - involving a talented team at London animation studio Blinkink - Esmaili's video for Trinkets unfolds as a series of surreal and richly stylised vignettes. It follows a parade of eccentric Ashnikko alter-egos - buck-toothed girl, raven girl, and city girl - each a proud trinket-lover in her own right.

It's weird, wonderful and highly original - an intriguing introduction to the latest Ashnikko project, following her debut album Weedkiller - which also included a significant creative partnership with Blinkink in the extraordinary  video for Worms, directed by Raman Djafari - who also contributes here as a member of the Blinkink team. 

Above all, Léa Esmaili has expertly crafted and helmed an extraordinary vision for Trinkets. But what else would we possibly expect from the amazing Ashnikko?
