Gustaffson ft Bear McCreary 'Flowers' by Myriam Raja
Rob Ulitski - 28th Nov 2024
Myriam Raja directs a promo for Gustaffson's collaboration with Bear McCreary, combining wistful narrative with a moving dance performance.
The video for Flowers starts in the modern day, as a solitary man (played by Jamie Harris) he carries out his daily afternoon ritual in his local pub. As he sits down with two pints to complete his crossword, flower petals rain down onto his newspaper, and then he is magically transported back a few decades.
The man's memories are stirred as he witnesses a thrilling dance sequence, performed by Hamish Longley and Jade Longely, within the walls of the pub. It's effectively a modern ballet, packed with emotion and character, as Raja brings the personalities of the young dancers to the forefront through their performance.
A cleverly constructed, beautifully performed visual, full of nostalgic yearning, it's athat encapsulates the themes of the track to strongly resonate with viewers.
