Chronicling the origin story behind Mette’s emergence as a performer, musician, and dancer, the video for Mama's Eyes intercuts visually striking performance shots with culturally referential footage of growth, mothering, justice, and celebration, growing increasingly more personal as the concept continues. 

Running counter to stereotypical imagery of mothering, Summers-Valli matches Mette’s choreography and lyrics by splicing in old Hollywood dance films, wild animals, and an array of protests.

A complete tour de force of music video creativity, which is utterly captivating and absorbing, and a reminder of the expansive power of the format. 

It's executed to perfection across every element, but a special shoutout also needs to be made for the cut - editor Vid Price at Trim has done a remarkable job.
