Wooze 'Get Me To A Nunnery' by Ellen Evans
Promonews - 27th Sept 2021
Grierson Award-winning director Ellen Evans makes her music video debut for South London band Wooze in their EP single Get Me to a Nunnery.
A surreal B-movie adventure featuring drummer and vocalist Jamie She chased by a malignant force driving an 2003 BMW 3 series - in the guise of his bandmate Theo Spark.
Is Theo really trying to kill him? Or is that crucifix around his neck exerting some demonic influence?
Evans keeps the viewer guessing as the piece enters its memorable climax - an iconic dance sequence by Spark, choreographed by Adriann Ramirez, which walks a delicious line between feminine and masculine. And then comes the explosive, stomach-churning finale.
In other words, it's an outstanding debut into music videos by the erstwhile documentary maker.
