Gianennio Salucci, Zella Day & Saamuel Richard explore the dichotomy of toxic relationships in the video for Only A Dream. 

Initially opening as a breezy slice-of-life, the concept follows a couple who have a volatile and unpredictable partnership, with an unhealthy dose of dependency to round things off. 

Switching between nostalgic portraits and conceptual choreography setups, the abstract aesthetic is stitched together seamlessly, representing lost memories in the past and an uncomfortable present day, with no clear direction on how to escape. 

Doubling up as DoP as well as co-directing, Salucci balances a vintage fashion style with the sharp clarity of present day footage, combining both effects to represent the mindset of the artist.

"We were fortunate enough to be able to safely shoot this visual for Zella's hauntingly beautiful track during COVID-19 isolation. Zella and Sam came to me wanting to collaborate on a video that really shows the beauty and horror of being in a long term toxic relationship.

"Those little moments where the devil whispers in your ear and you make decisions to push you further apart from your partner. Often I think we ignore the growing distance. The reasons are clear."
