Paris-based director duo Original Kids direct an affecting narrative promo for Amaru, explore a toxic relationship, which is both physically and psychologically violent, and gradually consumes a young woman - played by the singer herself. The script for Not Different was born from collaborative discussions with the directors - Loïc Grandin and Kevin Andrade - and the artist. It's a heart-wrenching narrative, told through poignant - and often troubling - snapshots of the character's day, tied together by a raw monochromatic aesthetic."The idea is to adopt a narrative point of view similar to the reaction of a victim's brain," say the directors explain."In other words, an omniscient yet subjective point of view on past events. A point of view that reflects how the brain, out of protection, will distort certain memories, will steer the eye towards certain details, but sometimes will also prevent the viewer from actually seeing."
