Sody, Cavetown 'is your bedroom ceiling bored?' by Samuel Douek
Rob Ulitski - 20th Aug 2020
Sody and Cavetown are stuck in revolving rooms in Samuel Douek's sweetly compelling video for is your bedroom ceiling bored?
Mirroring the themes of isolation and trapped emotions, we see both artists in their own confined space, performing as their world is turned upside down, quite literally.
DoP Michael Filocamo uses vibrant colour to contrast the rooms, elevating the otherworldy aesthetic. A subtle dose of slow motion ramps up the drama and draws out the emotionally affecting scenes, which combined with the perpetual movement of Sody and Cavetown's slowly rotating bedrooms, creates a dizzying representation of unrequited love.
