Deap Vally 'GONNAWANNA' by Eva Michon
Cat Velez - 7th Sept 2016
Eva Michon - who directed last years' hilariously debauched Amish barn dance video for Death From Above 1979's track Virgins - has delivered this funny retro pastiche for American rock duo Deap Vally.Â
Embodying the song's insubordinate punk spirit is a crossdressing, pink-furred Neanderthal who rocks up to the beach and causes scandal with all his defiantly hairy splendour. Lashing out at the sneering crowd, the creature grabs beach balls and karate-chops books out of a woman's hands before dancing around like he owns the place.Â
And that's when the girls of Deap Vally have seen quite enough, attacking the poor beast. But somewhere along the way.. they simply decide to have a little dance instead.Â
