The promo for Turquoise is set on a beach at night, but the bathers are acting like it’s the middle of the day…snoozing, reading, and chilling out, the whole setup reminiscent of a Martin Parr photograph. We see Blu Samu as a human torch running through the crowd, with an almost spiritual energy, illuminating the space around her. But it’s as if she’s invisible - not noticed by anyone - she’s then reborn in the healing powers of the ocean.Amazingly, the whole concept was filmed in camera - including the potentially perilous fire special effects - and this called for careful planning and a cold night to shoot on, as well as a skilled stunt team and multiple cameras to capture the footage.

Henry Dean directs a moving promo for emerging Scottish sensation Aaron Smith.In the video, a chance encounter between two young lovers sparks a vision of a whirling, multifaceted romance.The cinematic concept captures the magnetism between its two lead characters (played by Jacob Avery and Isobel Imade) and blurs the line between fantasy and reality, offering up a rich, emotive visual universe to accompany the track.

The latest episode in Greg Barth's ongoing collaboration with Easy Life is the whimsical video for Have A Great Day - and takes us back to the summertime and the English seaside.This one was inspired by the photography of Martin Parr, and shot on a windy day in Broadstairs, it transforms a typical British day at the beach into a slightly surreal experience. The video experiments with cyclical camera movements and a postcard gag, resetting the scene after each cycle. The characters get progressively messier - both in the literal and figurative meaning of the word - as they throw ice creams, start play-fighting and falling over themselves. The inspired blend of visual effects and live action creates a mesmerising aesthetic. Playful, characterful, and on the verge of chaotic - just like a day at the seaside. And its very Easy Life.

Luke Logan-Malik directs an upbeat promo, battling the elements all the while, for London band Kawala.Under rolling grey clouds on Blackpool's golden sands, the group battle the autumn chill and some fearsome winds with a smile, giving everything in a zesty band performance of Searching. Transitioning from a moody daytime setting to intoxicating night setups, the cinematic visuals match the pace of the track - and a last-minute flurry of lighting effects adds an enigmatic strand to the concept.

Lorde returns with a new sunny and carefree attitude with Solar Power, epitomised by the beach-set one-shot video for the song, co-directed by long-time collaborator Joel Kefali and Lorde herself - under her birth name, Ella Yelich-O’Connor.

Joseph Kahn's second video in the trilogy sees DJ Khaled shipwrecked, with featured artists H.E.R and Migos. Isolated on a remote island, Khaled soon transforms the beach landscapes to something far more luxurious, adorned with gold plated sports cars, chandeliers and... dragons. Larger than life and full of standout moments, it's another elevated concept from Kahn and the creative team, with plenty of visual effects trickery as standard.

Leonardo Cosme wins the Jury Award at the Shortcutz Music Video Challenge, with this gently tongue-in-cheek promo for Feng Suave. Inspired by cheesy holiday postcards, the band are treated to a trip around the world - from bright sunny beaches to snowy peaks, echoing the dreamy vibe of the song. Of course, it's all revealed to be set up in front of different backdrops, in a decidely average studio, where the cast are directed by a flamboyant photographer... But that doesn't stop them imagining the fantasy of skiing in the Swiss Alps, dancing samba on a Brazillian beach and eating raw fish in the Netherlands. It's a vibrant, laidback affair, with understated performances from the group, and a buzzing energy that permeates every vignette. And all of this was achieved in a tiny amount of time - the directors and musicians had just six day to shoot, edit and finish their films, as per competition rules.

James Slater directs a dreamy promo for Baby Queen's new track Dover Beach. Fittingly shot across picturesque seaside landscapes - in Dover, of course - the video takes viewers on trip through Bella Latham's psyche, where she is desperately trying to escape that certain someone, to no avail. "It's about being infatuated with somebody and seeing them everywhere you look," comments Baby Queen. Packed full of soft pastel colours and striking locations, the concept takes on a cinematic, romantic aesthetic with top-notch performances and memorable vignettes. It's certainly a departure from the spikier tone of BQ's previous videos.
