Vuvuvultures 'Steel Bones' by Gabriel Gettman
Sam Hill - 2nd Aug 2013
Gabriel Gettman's very cinematic video for Vuvuvultures' Steel Bones sees sci-fi strippers, thugs and cyborgs hunt and humiliate a slimy suit who's been lured from nightclub into their car-park trap - by band lead singer and rising model Harmony Boucher...
If the costumes remind you of Mad Max and Blade Runner (especially Harmony's), then it might interest that the facemasks worn by the cast here were designed by Chris Sutton Studio, who dress Marilyn Manson and Lady Gaga.
High credentials indeed for a very stylish and smoothly executed video by Gabriel, a rising talent in fashion film - and now music video.
Gabriel Gettman: "I wanted to create an engaging, darkly humorous story that blurred the lines between high fashion imagery and pulpy 80s sci-fi, both of which are a big influence on the band's aesthetic.
"We shot for three days at eclectic locations across London, ranging from large, complex set-ups, such as the bar scene in members club Home House, to guerrilla filming in an underpass with just one battery-powered light."
