In&nbsp;his latest collab with Meekz - their eighth in the past two years - KC Locke directs a top-dollar, action-packed promo for the Manchester rapper.&nbsp;In the video for Say Less,&nbsp;we see Meekz and his crew&nbsp;cruise around a remote location in&nbsp;Land Rovers, captured via frenetic drone shots and thrilling camera moves on the ground.&nbsp;"I wanted to come with a high adrenaline offering for the Meekz debut Mixtape release," explains Locke.&nbsp;"The song had the feeling of momentum that one of our previous videos had - Can't Stop Won't Stop -&nbsp;so I wanted to bring that high action NDA to life again and demonstrate a Tom Cruise-type action sequence."[imgtoken data:1]Building upon his trademark style of high-paced action and captivating performance, Locke boasts plenty of experience in this world now, and it shows on-screen.&nbsp;"I feel like I have a lot of experience now with fast action and I feel very comfortable pushing these&nbsp;type of action sequence creatives and they are always so much fun to make."On the morning of this shoot, our DOP feel seriously ill and couldn't come to set, we had no time to bring in another DOP at such a remote location, so I&nbsp;had to step to both&nbsp;DoP and direct the video which involved ultra arm tracking vehicles, FPV drones and a lot of hand held operation. It's in these situations that you got to just crack on and make it happen - luckily we have a strong team who backed me and we went full steam!"Through our continued Manchester collaboration myself and Meekz have done 8 videos together so far over the past two years and always push the boundaries on each and every one! "The song is about a girl who pays Aitch no attention but secretly she’s a super fan . We created a fun narrative with a rock band performance element - which was new for me too.<blockquote>We motion-captured Aitch’s body movements which was then tracked to our CGI teddy bear.&nbsp;</blockquote>"Aitch wanted some toy teddy bears at the intro of the video, then during the treatment-writing process I decided to try bring the teddy bear to life with guidance from our VFX team."We motion-captured Aitch’s body movements which was then tracked to our CGI teddy bear - this was also another way of showing Aitch in disguise as an actual teddy bear too. After the intro we show both Aitch and the teddy bear up to no good in our living room scene with our female actress, who is not impressed by their antics.&nbsp; "We shot the whole video in our studio in Manchester, and got through 7 scenes in one day, which wouldn’t have been possible without having our own dedicated studio facilities. Production designer&nbsp;Jenny O’Sullivan worked really hard turning all the sets around in a few days with her construction team and we all really love the results."The whole team worked really hard bringing this together from producer and production to DoP, lighting, edit and colour grade, which all blended seamlessly together."

KC Locke taps into the mystique of masked rapper M Huncho, referencing fantasy stories and cinema in an imaginative fashion,&nbsp;in&nbsp;the latest edition of Apple Music Agenda Live series.On Doomsday, Huncho explicitly references the late MF Doom, from whom he has inherited his masked persona, and who was himself inspired by Marvel super-villain Doctor Doom. So Locke provides Huncho with his own superhero origin story in a movie-like setting - a huge cave, set in a mountain peak. KC Locke directs a mesmerising promo for Tom Grennan's latest anthem.&nbsp;The video for Remind Me follows Grennan as he transitions through a maze of vignettes, starting in a white hallway and ending up on a rooftop - with a breathtaking photorealistic CGI car drive through the city as its centrepiece.&nbsp;That's&nbsp;is the standout moment of the concept, and a lot of work went into bringing it to life on-screen - as KC explains below.&nbsp;The end result is a visual with maximum impact, and a completely&nbsp;new direction for Grennan's videography.&nbsp;&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]<blockquote>We are pushing the boundaries with each project... doing something different that stands out from the norm.</blockquote>"A lot of hard work, planning, dedication and long hours from the whole team went into making this idea come to life!  " says Locke.   "Prep for me is so important on each any every job, I spend a long time blocking out and planning each scene, camera movement, emotion, performance and flow. Tom Grennan is such a pleasure to work with, which gave me confidence in bringing something to him that’s far different to his previous videos and gave us a new world to explore and develop. "Once the plan was together, Jamil Shaukat (editor) helped put together a pre-vis which became the main reference point during all client &amp; HOD communications alone with the shortlist and written scripts. The team at LMNTL who we work closely with put a lot of hard work and effort into bringing the CGI elements of this visual to life.   Jenny O’Sullivan (production designer) and her art and construction team brought to life the practical sets and blue screen elements which worked seamlessly with CGI integration.[imgtoken data:2]"It became a bit of a military operation for Lewis Nicholson (producer) and our production team making this ambitious concept work logistically using our 13,000 sq ft film studio in Manchester. KC Locke directs an explosive&nbsp;promo for M Huncho &amp; Headie One's Warzone.&nbsp;Deep in the trenches, we see the artists perform amongst the chaos of conflict and confrontation, paying no mind to the dangers of the battlefield around them.&nbsp;"When Huncho and team approached me about the Warzone track and the brief of the video feeling like a WW1 movie I was instantly into writing something explosive!," explains Locke.&nbsp;"Being a big fan of 1917, I really wanted to try create a video which had some progressive longer takes with seamless transitions like 1917 but in our own way."The high-octane concept&nbsp;presents an unexpected backdrop for the visuals, and the special effects and quickfire edit keep the project punchy and snappy throughout.&nbsp;"I’m really having fun at the moment combining in camera effects with carefully planned seamless CGI&nbsp;transitions, and world building to make each video I do feel different and new, while always setting creative challenges for the team! This video for us was a showcase of multidisciplinary techniques woven together seamlessly in our own way with a modern take on a WW1 WARZONE." Locke continued.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]The location is another key part of the visual, a maze of trenches which create a minacious, cinematic atmosphere.&nbsp;"The location was always going to be the most important thing for this type of creative, once Lewis Nicholson (producer) discovered this amazing location, we knew we had stuck gold and had the perfect backdrop for our video."The art team - lead by Jenny O'Sullivan - did an amazing job on bringing this location to life with so many details and texture along with the SFX team who really came with a bang!"I put a lot of time into prep with a pre-decided scene layout &amp; structure for the video. I left important pockets in the edit in particular scenes for Jamil Shaukat (editor) to really shine and bring out the performance and musicality of the edit, which as a result gives a really interesting and progressive feel to the video between scenes. Some scenes breath while the choreography of explosions, SFX&nbsp;and camera moves live, while other scenes are cut together quicker and seamlessly showcasing the artists performance and story."This musicality we tried to carry across every scene of the video - for example bombs exploding on certain bass and beats within the song, to CGI transitions linked to lyrics and gun fire on adlibs which I feel really help immerse you in the video."[imgtoken data:2]

KC Locke takes his motion-control ambitions to the next level, in the dreamy promo for Lola Young's So Sorry.&nbsp;In a conventional greasy spoon caff - the ominously-named&nbsp;Cruel Cafe -&nbsp;we find&nbsp;Lola Young playing a variety of different characters, on both sides of the counter, in an interweaving tapestry of narratives and slick camera moves.&nbsp;Technically advanced and head-spinningly complex, the video is anchored by the artist's down to earth performance style and authentic interpretation of each character she inhabits.&nbsp;It's another innovative promo for KC Locke and team, whose collaboration with Manchester-based G6 Moco has taken things up a notch once again.[imgtoken data:1]"After experimenting with motion control in 2021 across various projects I had been waiting for the opportunity to use motion control with a full track system," explains Locke. "We designed this concept with that in mind and wanted to create a video which allowed our camera to move around a set freely while telling a visual story."I've wanted to work with Lola Young for a while now and this was the perfect project to link up on. Lola was a pleasure to create with and I feel like we made something great here. The song So Sorry&nbsp;had this feeling of different personalities [so] after pitching the concept of multiple Lolas in her own End Of The F*cking World-style cafe, we got to work on bringing this to life.[imgtoken data:2]"Between Christmas and New Year's Eve when traveling to Thailand for our holiday, myself and Jenny O’Sullivan (production designer) spent many hours planning and discussing the creative and building a world for Lola. While I spent&nbsp;hours planning out each and every second of the motion control moments, Jenny spent equal time designing Cruel Cafe&nbsp;from the ground up while working remote with her art and set building teams."Once I had the whole video mapped out on paper, Andy Rider (G6 MOCO) then began to pre-vis the entire video for us. G6 MOCO’s dedication and attention to detail really helped in this process of really understanding what I had envisioned."The set construction came together beautifully along with the lighting direction by Stefan Yap (DOP) and Nick Platt (gaffer and Drop City owner) - the set really felt like a real cafe and gave the perfect backdrop for Lola to bring these characters to life."
