New KODE signings Harv Frost and Dora Paphides join forces to direct the impressive promo for The Last Dinner Party's My Lady Of Mercy. Opening with heavenly monochromatic scenes that feel almost daydream-esque, the video develops into a high-energy hallucination, full of theatrical performance and high contrast lighting. The vintage aesthetic works perfectly with the idea and the band's distinctive visual style and energy, transcending the studio setting to reach boundless heights, interweaving abstract narrative vignettes and religious iconography into the concept.Definitely TLDP's most stylish and passionate video to date, it's an impressive collab by Frost and Paphides that's designed to get the heart racing.

A family day out at the beach and a rock band on an airplane meet in a shocking but awe-inspiring way, in The Reids' ambitious promo for South London experimental rock band Legss. The video for Daddy There's Sand In The Sandwiches is a tour de force of creativity, and despite the budget limitations presents an exciting, character-led narrative with moments of poignancy and introspection. To say much more would give it away, but the textural, monchromatic style and VFX flair create a unique aesthetic reminiscent of midcentury cinema, and the brother directing team's dedication to the concept helps bring to life something that far exceeds the budget. With the plane interiors filmed on a vintage VC-10 aircraft at Brooklands Museum, this is really impressive work to follow up The Reids' fine brace of recent videos with Mura Masa.

Craig McLaughlin directs a cinematic dance-based promo for London-based musician Silverhours' debut release. Inspired by the works of German dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch, the video for Doldrums explores the concept of involuntary memory and how senses such as smell and touch can trigger a past experience. The camerawork, rousing movement and editing contrasts against the brutalist, rugged architecture and monochromatic colour palette, creating an enigmatic atmosphere that feels both spontaneous and engaging.

Joshua Stocker directs a beautiful and moving promo for Guvna B's autobiographical story of injustice, Bridgeland Road. Through a series of powerful vignettes - captured in outstanding cinematography by DoPs Adam Singodia and Luke Dryden - Stocker's video provides an atmospheric visual context for the London-born rapper, author and broadcaster's reflections upon his life following an unprovoked racially motivated attack, which he reported to the police but who dropped the case four months after the incident.Spurred on by Emmy award-winning actress and writer Michaela Coel - whose voicemail appears in the track around the halfway mark - Guvna B (aka Isaac Borquaye) reveals more about the attack and its subsequent handling by the police and legal process, while the monochrome video establishes the artist's world with artistic resonance. Stocker sets the scene with well-crafted scenes of the place where the artist grew up, detailing normal daily life, lazy afternoons and meetups with friends. But then representations of the harrowing attack and its aftermath, start to intrude while Guvna's heartfelt performance becomes the heart of the video.A director and photographer with considerable experience in bringing choreography to the screen - as in his excellent Olafur Arnalds video for Zero - Joshua Stocker's uses all that experience, including movement direction of his on-screen extras, to craft the stream of images.That makes this piece, over five minutes long, a mesmerising experience.
