Milo Hume directs a stirring, feverish promo for New York rock band Quarters. 

The video for Angel unfolds through a series of surreal, fragmented vignettes where the band perform unfazed as chaos builds around them. One moment lead singer Ben stands looming over two bodies writhing beneath sheets of creased plastic; the next mud-streaked ballerinas move in passionate frenzy around drummer Attila Anrather. 

Set against a raw upstate New York backdrop, the film escalates in tension and momentum, culminating in an explosive finale that mirrors the track’s uncontained energy.

The collaboration between the band and director has itself had been a long time coming with Milo Hume and guitarist Jasper Harris having known each other since elementary school. The idea for the video was first born in a barbershop this past summer as Milo listened to the album in its entirety while lead singer Ben Roter had a haircut.

A few more meet-ups followed, shaping the concept before it eventually came to life in freezing February on a rundown, wooded farm in upstate New York. And the result is terrific. Imbued with frosty colour palettes and a nostalgic, evocative aesthetic, the video is a pulsating tour de force, with some unforgettable imagery.
