Maxo 'Donahoo's Chicken' by Vincent Haycock
Rob Ulitski - 23rd May 2025
Vincent Haycock directs an offbeat, lo-fi promo for LA rapper Maxo.
The video for Donahoo's Chicken sees a group of young men in a bathroom, playing the track (and performance visual) on one of their phones. Moments later, a fight erupts between the men, and we see the scuffle interspersed with footage from the phone, which continues to play amongst the mayhem.
Shot in a DIY style, the video builds to a very surreal moment at the end. It's part of the off-kilter visual landscape for the new Maxo album, Mars Is Electric, that was first previewed with Haycock's video for first single Human?
