Maxo 'Donahoo's Chicken' by Vincent Haycock
Rob Ulitski - 23rd May 2025
Vincent Haycock directs an offbeat, lo-fi promo for LA rapper Maxo.
The video for Donahoo's Chicken sees a group of young men in a bathroom, playing the track (and performance visual) on one of their phones. Moments later, a fight erupts between the men, and we see the scuffle interspersed with footage from the phone, which continues to play amongst the mayhem.
Shot in a DIY style, the video builds to a very surreal moment at the end. It's part of the surreal visual landscape for the new Maxo album, Mars Is Electric, that was first previewed with Haycock's video for first single Human?
