Voka Gentle 'Creon I' by Louise Mason
Rob Ulitski - 16th May 2025
Louise Mason directs a glitchy, fever dream of a promo for British psychedelic-indie trio Voka Gentle.
The video for Creon I is an assault on the senses - in the best way possible. A clash of digital textures, 3D animation and manipulated well-known fizzy drinks and supermarket sandwiches... a tour de force of experimentation and craft, resulting in a frantic, feverish visual.
"The video was built around the concept of the Sunshine Supermarket - a world in which the band could live and and play," says Mason.
"We wanted glitched out, lofi renders, strange juxtapositions to playfully riff off the idea of Domestic Bliss, the forthcoming album title, so that we could produce work that's neither literal or too overwrought, and set the tone for the forthcoming campaign."
Delightfully absurd and captivating - well worth a watch.
