Agusta Yr directs a surreal, digitally-rich visual for LA-based pop singer Sam Short, who takes a trip from earthbound reality to off-world fantasy.

The video for Earthgirl starts in a nighttime garden, but the Icelandic director begins to disrupt the sense of realism from the start, as the world around the pop singer begins to change. With AI-enhanced VFX, Yr creates a dreamlike world that complements Short’s introspective lyrics. She becomes a mermaid under the sea before leaving Earth entirely, travelling to the Moon. 

The videos a testament to Yr’s multidisciplinary approach. Known for her innovative use of 3D animation and playful aesthetics, she directed, animated and edited the video - and the result is a visually captivating experience.
