Sophie Ellis-Bextor 'Freedom Of The Night' by Sophie Muller, Theo Adams
Rob Ulitski - 28th Oct 2024
Sophie Ellis-Bextor is up to her old tricks in Sophie Muller & Theo Adams' dazzling promo for Freedom Of The Night.
Paying homage to iconic hit Murder on the Dancefloor, the artist plays an overwrought dance mum, dragging her on-screen daughter through a local talent show.
When push comes to shove, she releases a big bag of sugary sweets onto the unsuspecting competitors, causing a riotous distraction for Ellis-Bextor and her mini-me to take the crown.
Featuring a cameo from one of the original MOTDF judges, it's a delightfully sweet, disco-tinged concept, with a heavy dose of nostalgia and charismatic charm.
And let's just take a moment to appreciate the twirling ribbon solo at the bridge - it's safe to say that Ellis-Bextor has reclaimed the dancefloor, almost 25 years after her breakout hit.
