Director duo Node direct a haunting and surreal promo for Harvey Causon. 

The video for Nostalgia blends live action and AI generated imagery, to reflect the symptomatic fear that has become associated with technological singularity - a hypothetical future point in time at which technological growth becomes uncontrollable and irreversible.

Shifting, distorted textures amalgamate with the abyss-like environment, leaning into the near-future concept, and the whole visual ramps up to frantic climax. 

“Cracking open the hippocampus of AI, this brief was a true collaboration between traditional moving image and open source generative adversarial networks," say Node, who are Katie Scott and Kat Collings.

"It's an exercise into our boundaries working with AI systems and vice versa. As filmmakers, challenging us on how we understand it and how it inter-operates us - the tension between flesh and hardware. Bodies in cognition.”
