Palace 'When Everything Was Lost' by Freddie Wright
Rob Ulitski - 7th Aug 2023
In his latest foray into directing, Freddie Wright orchestrates a supernatural mystery for alt-rock band Palace's atmospheric When Everything Was Lost.Â
It begins with a young man alone in an apartment, surrounded by coruscating lights and shadows, which slowly reveal ethereal illusions and haunting snapshots of memories. A young woman becomes a distant presence in the house. The young man is eventually transported to a lake, before fighting for a way back to the house - and the girl.Â
The ghost story-cum-horror aesthetic and structure fit perfectly with the music, whilst the ambitious cinematography nd visual effects feel cinematic and inspired throughout.Â
