Budjerah 'What Should I Do?' by Mick Soiza

Mick Soiza returns to collab with Budjerah, on the poignant promo for What Should I Do.
The video sees the artist surrounded by people at a dinner party, but unable to connect in the way he wants to, which leads to various frustrations.
"I feel this song captures a lot of the social anxiety and disconnection so many people feel but are too afraid or embarrassed to voice," says Soiza. "The aim was to tap into this and create something quite literal to the meaning of the song and dive into how confident Budjerah was in his vulnerability."
The resulting visual intercuts between apathetic socialising and a fantasy dance section in the living room, which blurs the boundaries between what's real and what isn't.
"As much as we wanted to bring to life that feeling of being ignored, we didn’t want to go down into the dark depths of those situations," the director continues. "We wanted to touch the surface and, like the track, we wanted to have fun with the creative treatment, cinematography, set design, colours, wardrobe and edit - all the while still leaving the viewer with a bit more empathy and connection than they had before."
