Boy Bleach 'Luvu2x' by David Ranson

Rob Ulitski - 22nd Nov 2021

David Ranson explores the disquiet and tension of being in a relationship, in his affecting promo for Boy Bleach.

Cut together in an abstract, almost dreamlike fashion, the video races through a series of memories which are connected by movement and subtle transitions.

The use of split-screen and off-kilter camerawork heightens the etheral aesthetic, and the lead performance add a certain weight to the emotional narrative.

DAVID RANSON:

It's a visceral and abstract attempt to depict the tensions that can occur in a relationship.

"We shot this film for Boy Bleach one crazy day back in December of 2020. However due to another Covid lockdown, the band's launch was delayed and the film got put on hold. However patience paid off and nearly one year later we finally get to put this film out and share it with the world.

"Everyone who worked on this film brought something special and I'm very grateful for all the support we had on this.

"This film for LUVU2X is a visceral and abstract attempt to depict the tensions that can occur in a relationship. How we sometimes hide how we feel to protect the other, but that very act can have it's own consequences."
