BADBADNOTGOOD 'Timid, Intimidating' by Winston Hacking
Rob Ulitski - 1st Nov 2021
Enter the kaleidoscopic vision of Winston Hacking’s latest promo, for BADBADNOTGOOD's Timid, Intimidating.
The visuals are entirely shot on location, with large-scale cutouts held up practically by stand-ins, reflecting Hacking's trademark collage style.
"The film takes its enigmatic blueprint from the song, constructing playful image associations out of collages shot along the Pacific Northwest," explains Hacking.
Undeniably innovative and creative, the video is visually reminscent of Monty Python's iconic art, with a touch of art installation and vintage postcard graphics - but that doesn't do it nearly enough justice. It's rare such a unique vision plays out in this way, and this tour de force has to be seen to be experienced.
