Villagers 'The First Day' by Daniel Brereton
Daniel Brereton directs a cheerful promo for Villagers' new track The First Day.
Embodying the refrain of the track, "The first day of the rest of your life", Brereton presents a handful of colourful characters, who are shown rediscovering the world around them.
Especially relevant due to the fact it was filmed between lockdowns last year, the concept visualises a newfound sense of respect for the everyday, and focuses on a young girl who floats around a residential estate, before landing to experience joy in a multitude of different ways.
Shot on film, the project has a uniquely nostalgic and universal vibe, which is enhanced by bold colour palettes and sharp styling, and wonderful performances across the board.
