CliQ ft. Alika And Ms Banks 'Google Me' by Paulo Berberan
Rob Ulitski - 3rd Aug 2020
Paulo Berberan pays homage to early internet aesthetics in his video for CliQ's Google Me.
Featuring Alika and Ms Banks, the concept is a trip through early 21st century futurism, a moment in time when imaginations ran wild and people started to imagine what the future could look like in the framework of rapidly evolving technology.Â
Chatroom screens, webcam captures and sleek performances take centre-stage, with plenty of fisheye perspective shots to round off the style. The 'Google Me' code that is overlaid on many scenes calls back to The Matrix, whilst the idea of fans watching intently is reminiscent of Jennifer Lopez's iconic visual for If You Had My Love.Â
It's a punchy and striking concept, with a charming selection of lo-fi VFX.Â
