It's two tales as different as day and night in Colin Read's gripping video for Radiohead's Man of War.
Mild Minds ft Boats 'Walls' by Colin Read
Colin Read directs an impressive concept tackling migration, displacement and family separation in the video for Australian artist Mild Minds.
Introducing a fresh perspective, built around clever visual effects and subtle tricks, we see a father and daughter (played by real father and daughter actors, Alberto and Ana) looking to escape the streets, desperately searching for a way out.
Visually stunning, the camera starts to track right to left and breaks through to a different setup, as the boundaries of each scene start to bleed into each other, different locations and worlds colliding in tandem with the narrative.
Creative and unique, the inspired use of layers as a metaphor for borders and a top-notch edit help make this one of the standout videos of the year so far.
