Heavily focused on Mabel's performance, the video by Melody Maker has a few simple setups, including the artist sat on her bed and in a living room whilst friends celebrate around her. The choice to keep things so simple allows viewers to connect with the core themes of the track - we all have our ups and downs, and Christmas can be an incredibly lonely and isolated time for many. 

Swapping out festive decorations for a muted earthy colour palette, the lighting and design lend a wistful and emotional vibe to the video, whilst Mabel's downcast performance bolsters the entire concept. 

This certainly is not the most joyful songs of the period, but the message it gets across is important. Especially with the amount of people who will be celebrating on their own this year or are homeless and have nowhere to go.
