Flohio 'Way2' by Ethan Barrett + Tom Gullam
Tyro directors Ethan Barrett and Tom Gullam provide an excellent device to capture South London rapper Flohio’s boundless energy on WAY2 - constantly from a few feet above her head, as we follow her cruising through her native neighbourhood.
Matching the lyrics of being way too hype for anything regular anymore, the video plays with bold, hyperreal imagery, captured in gritty black and white. having set a high standard in her pervious videos directed by Duncan Loudon (who creative directed here), this feels like a natural progression - with a real and rare 'how did they do that?' aspect to the camerawork.
Even with the camera flying above her, Flohio's performance is more confident and assured than ever. It cements her as one of the most exciting artists working in the genre today.
