Shot in Ballymun in Ireland, Hector's video for Maverick Sabre explores the life of a young man who runs through a gamut of emotions as he searches for a path in life.
Jorja Smith 'The One' by Hector Dockrill
Having previously worked together on music videos for Lay Me Down (featuring Stormzy), as well as on BLF and the now classic On My Mind, Jorja Smith reconnects with Hector Dockrill for the music video for The One - which comes hot off the heels of her first Grammy nomination.
Inspired by the song's poignant lyrics, and shot in a California motel, Dockrill's visuals tackle Jorja's inability to walk away from a troubled relationship. But by keeping the emphasis upon her and her emotions, and avoiding narrative detail, there is no explanation for why she keeps getting dragged back in.
Dockrill says: “I wanted to leave [viewers with] a question: what has happened here?"
