Mellah 'What It Is' by Taz Tron Delix
Taz Tron Delix returns with this dark and hallucinatory exercise of movement and control, grit and determination, for South London instrumentalist Mellah.
In a wet, dark, grassy swamplike setting, the performers act out a tale of struggle, with Liam Ramsden – aka Mellah – blind-folded and topless, fighting to get out a crater of water, to escape.
Delix uses relentless variation and repetition of his set-ups, relying on his mastery of editing and smoky in-camera atmosphere over his trademark use of homemade VFX, to build a kinetic visual for What It Is.
