Jay Green goes next level with his trippy and very stylish vision for the first release from Nothing But Thieves new album.&nbsp;The video for Welcome To The DCC ambitiously sets out to give familiar references a new twist, and create a dazzling showcase for the band's new slick pop direction. Aesthetics of Blade Runner bleed&nbsp;into a Michael Mann-esque world where we follow characters around the dazzling DCC - an alluringly luxurious club which nonetheless may not be exactly what it seems.&nbsp;&nbsp;The viewer is put on alert from the first moments, as the video is framed as a near-future commercial (or content film) for the mysterious club:&nbsp;on-screen pop up ads appear throughout selling the lifestyle and environment of the DCC. All very intriguing and fun, yet with an undeniably&nbsp;sinister undertone.Jay Green has used all his hands-on experience of VFX as well as directing and editing to fulfill the concept. As a result the&nbsp;video is a pulsating, retrofuturistic&nbsp;tour de force. After his UKMVA-nominated video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/03/15/fly-anakin-class-clown-jay-green/75397" target="_blank">Class Clown</a>, Jay Green reunites with Fly Anakin to direct&nbsp;a mesmerising promo for Blicky Bop.&nbsp;The video dives into a trippy montage of effervescent visuals, blending a sense of psychedelia with a strangely transcendent vibe. Taking inspiration from Frank Ocean’s Novacane, the viewer takes a cosmic trip with Anakin without ever leaving the confines of his room.Employing a range of techniques - including the 'flattened 360 camera' view that he pioneered in the Class Clown promo - Green makes the walls melt into one another, disorientating visuals and kaleidoscopic patterns to create an hallucinatory experience like no other.

Lauzza and Bawo link up once again, this time with help from Reek0, to remind us to check in on our friends as much as our inboxes.&nbsp;The video for Same Team encapsulates the monotonous 9-5 office environment, and sees Bawo, Reek0 and a handful of office characters drudging away at their desks, counting down the minutes till they can get a break.&nbsp;Incorporating 90's computer technology, anachronistic art direction and a flurry of dynamic visual effects (including some cool reverse desktop overlays), it's another hit for Lauzza and team, and a perfect complement to the track.&nbsp;

Lauzza and Kibo create a world that belongs in a Sega Megadrive, racing through different random scenarios in the aptly titled Mr Lamborghini Deathslide.Kibo and his pals are hanging out at home when an ancient VHS tape is discovered and slotted in the old VHS player.Cue a series of sharp, snappy, primary coloured yet visually fuzzy&nbsp;vignettes as Kibo raps a stream of memorable one-liners while popping up in an array of different costumes, situations and characters.[imgtoken data:1]There's an abundance of wild playfulness and visual inventiveness on display here to neatly dovetail with&nbsp;the infectious energy of the track - which happens to be a UK Garage banger of the old-school. So the lo-fi old school console vibe of the visuals is a perfect match.It's as&nbsp;if the viewer has dusted off their PS1 or N64 for old time sake. Well, you cannot play it, but you can certainly watch it, again and again.

Jay Green reunites with Kam-BU to deliver a biting and very timely state-of-the-nation satire to accompany the rapper's fierce polemic against the current Conservative government.&nbsp;Kam-BU's lyrics for Eton Mess speak about how current government legislation treats the working class population with contempt, and how the Tory party is making a mockery of the British political landscape. In the video, the artist is working in a corner shop, while the latest in a series of puppet prime ministers - Richard Fibber - is making false promises on TV.[imgtoken data:1]Inspired by the most famous of all puppets, Green has Fibber's nose get ever-larger and longer, Pinnochio-style, as he spins out more lies, and makes more backroom deals. Meanwhile Kam-BU is the disillusioned everyman who stands up to him and the government, taunting him online and off.&nbsp;And with an&nbsp;uncanny sense of art representing life, the lying&nbsp;and cheating soon catches up to the man in charge.With a captivating, fast-moving style, including superb use of both prosthetics, VFX and animation, Green packs a huge amount into the less-than- two minute running time - and sends a message of hope that good people can still bring bad people to account.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jay Green directs a fun yet gritty lo-fi&nbsp;promo for Izzi De-Rosa, about the ups and downs of her relationship with a less-than-perfect boyfriend.&nbsp;From the POV of the artist's love interest, we see the pair run through London, hitting up the corner shop, the club and finally back home in the bedroom.&nbsp;With heavy saturated colours, dynamic camerawork and guerilla-style locations, it's a quick and dirty visual that perfectly fits the theme of the track.&nbsp;

BEDROOM direct&nbsp;an effervescent live action cartoon for singer-songwriter&nbsp;Chloe Moriondo - who knows how to do deal with no-good boyfriends&nbsp;Opening in a stark white studio environment, we see two eccentric characters drag a young man to a retrofuturistic shrink ray device -&nbsp;as Chloe watches on in amusement.[imgtoken data:1]The unfortunate male is zapped - and shrinks to a size where he can be picked up by Chloe and thrown in her&nbsp;eponymous purse - where he joins plenty of other miniaturized blokes. And then he has to be&nbsp;ready to fight for a place in the purse, in a vibrant, Fight Club-inspired battle.&nbsp;Imbued with the directing duo's sense of Noughties nostalgia and Gen Z perspective, it's a thoroughly entertaining showcase for the indefatigable Ms Moriondo, from start to finish.

We then crash zoom into a side profile of a reflective looking Ayrtn, walking behind a perpetually looping set of submarine portholes.&nbsp;Lauzza uses the gaps between these windows as a&nbsp;clever transitioning device, creating a one-take vibe with plenty of costume changes and a love interest character following behind.&nbsp;From the Spongebob-themed titles to the clever concept, it's another hit for Lauzza and team.&nbsp;

Bedroom direct a hyper-stylised promo for British R&amp;B singer Danny Dwyer's Mortal Kombat.Opening, appropriately enough,&nbsp;with a 90's era video game aesthetic featuring Dwyer as a character, the video soon takes on a less animated yet equally distinctive style, as we see him traverse a beach in various offbeat vignettes in long Columbo-style coat and boots.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]The directing duo capture&nbsp;Dwyer’s chaotic state of mind through playful images and techniques, empty vast landscapes and smart location choices to reflect the feeling of the song. They also reference the New Wave style pioneered by the late great Jean-Luc Godard, allowing their choices to put their own modern spin on the movement&nbsp;that revolutionised modern cinema.&nbsp;Imbuing the concept with a sense of controlled chaos, the Bedroom boys keep to their trademark abstract style, whilst allowing an editiorial fashion-esque aesthetic to seep through. It's great work - and look out for some fun blink-and-you’ll-miss cameos too.

Filmawi has directed a beautiful conceptual piece for Jvck James's soulful&nbsp;Hennessy Tears.Starting with a flock of birds flying through a clear blue sky, the camera pans to Jvck James, walking on desert-like ground, and performing the song about being overwhelmed by love with real feeling. The camera moves ahead of him, and as Jvck addresses the lens&nbsp;for the first time, stardust particles begin to flow from the singer.The particles coming from Jvck are echoed by the birds above, and then Filmawi adds another surprising element - the camera is a the person that Jvck is singing to. That adds another layer to the already captivating song and video, elevating the theme of all-encompassing&nbsp;love.

Birdman meet UK rap as we see Asher D walking through a one-take rehearsal for a play - only for&nbsp;reality and fantasy to&nbsp;start to spill into one another - in Filmawi's riveting video for Dat's A Wrap.Beginning with a theatre director screaming at a runner as the camera slowly pans out to reveal a whole production with crew, with some trying to calm the situation down. In the middle of everything Asher appears on-screen, calm and&nbsp;smooth as ever. He moves through the scene&nbsp;performing the track to the camera, describing his film career. He keeps his interactions&nbsp;with the surrounding cast to a minimum - even when one has a medical emergency.Filmawi excels in putting the viewer in a position where they feel familiar with the situation, only to flip the script in a perfectly-timed surreal moment at the climax.&nbsp;Watch again to look out for clues... the ending makes it one to remember.&nbsp;

Jay Green returns with&nbsp;a hypnotic video for MiniKingz' New Skin Care, playing with viewers'&nbsp;perceptions of what we see in a mirror.&nbsp;Beginning with a woman singing the hypnotic intro to the track, then Benjiflow from MiniKingz is introduced, appearing in a white background in a mirror frame - only to pan through the mirror and reveal him looking into another mirror. As the light strobe blinks, the screen then turns to dark mode; a rave appears in the reflection featuring the other Minikingz members, Ragz and Oscar Worldpeace.&nbsp;The performance-led video then continues this effective in-camera trickery, corutney of Green's clever negotiation of the space and the work of art director&nbsp;Lucy Ashmore. There are a series of skilful&nbsp;transitions, where the viewer&nbsp;is left guessing whether a 'mirror-image' is a reflection or not, and lines are repeatedly blurred of what the visuals appear to be.&nbsp;Ultimately this is a brilliant framing device to present the energetic charm and smooth flows of the trio. But once it ends you will be tempted to rewind it, to figure&nbsp;out how it was done...

Hold on to your seats and get ready to be taken on a magical fantasy ride by&nbsp;French animation studio Crux’s&nbsp;marvellous video for Cafuné’s viral hit Tek It.The video is a beautifully stylised retro-futurist 80s-anime dream - all&nbsp;from the perspective of a&nbsp;cute black cat, smitten with their owner and jealous of their mysterious friend, who may or may not be their partner, who keeps taking them away from this envious claw-ready pet.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]We follow the jealous feline into an imaginary world they dream up of swooping their owner off their feet in different trippy scenarios -&nbsp;including the imaginative kitty transforming into a charming cat-woman, singing to the moons for help, and using the Tek It&nbsp;track itself as a way to win their owner over.The core of Crux are&nbsp;Frederick Venet and Natia Sopromadze - with Venet on directing duties, from a script by Sopromadze, who also produced the project. They have crammed so many surreal ideas and imagery into the narrative to create a gorgeous sense of hallucination and daydreaminess to match the sentimental vibe of the track. Definitely ones to watch.

Pulp Fiction meets Prêt-à-Porter in Bedroom's hyperstylised promo for&nbsp;Italian rock sensations&nbsp;Måneskin.The video for Supermodel opens with a glamorous woman crawling out of a car wreck, hands outstretched and reaching for something off-screen.&nbsp;Things take a spin as we rewind to see what led up to this fiasco, as this enigmatic character&nbsp;steals a handbag and is chased through a bunch&nbsp;of vibrant locations by the band members.&nbsp;Bedroom imbue the video with some trademark signatures - including whip pans, quirky locations and upbeat editing - which elevate the throwback vibes.&nbsp;

Lauzza continues to prove that the sky is the limit, in&nbsp;this collaborative promo for Feux.&nbsp;Blending elements of his signature street-lit aesthetics with dreamy Spike Lee-influenced camera movements, we see Feux have&nbsp;a typical boozy night out at a party, before suddenly lifting off&nbsp;the ground and floating towards the sky above everyone else, reflecting the hazy atmosphere of the track.&nbsp;The naturalistic, low-fi style anchors this concept in a sense of reality, whilst the aspirational themes and dreamlike cinematography really elevate the project.&nbsp;

Kwes E's world&nbsp;transitions into a glitchy, hyperreal cacophony of erratic imagery, matching the trippy soundscapes. It's memorably unpredictable.&nbsp;

Experiencing loss and grief are the key elements in Nightmares on Wax new video for the smooth melancholy track Isolated,&nbsp;directed by photographer and filmmaker Ade Coker and fashion designer Tolu Coker.The video takes an intriguing approach to the subject of mental wellbeing and the stresses that come in family life and relationships. The central female character leads us through various episodes, effectively her memories, stemming from the loss of a relationship.[imgtoken data:1]The directors employ various techniques as she navigates these memories, using dance to express her emotions, and then,&nbsp;intercutting to and from infrared photography in the dramatic scenes, to represent internal battles that the characters are dealing with.&nbsp; This is a very distinctive and heartfelt piece of work, with nods to Carrie Mae Weem's kitchen table series, from&nbsp;Ade Coker and Tolu Coker, two exciting new multi-disciplinary artists.
