Yelle 'Ba$$in' by Diane Martel & Geoffrey Lillemon
Following on from their Nicki Minaj's Pills N Potions collaboration, Diane Martel & Geoffrey Lillemon bring another surreal 3D-graphics heavy world for the zany French girl singer Yelle, and creates loads of imaginative fun in the process.
With a distinctly retro Windows 98 feel, the video has the band performing in a lo-fi set-up with familiar nature picture backgrounds, CGI grass, manic dancing characters - and Yelle's head also periodically relocated to the top of a fully-animated blow-up doll.
All in all, it's fresh and totally bonkers, and a great vehicle for what sounds like a nailed-on international pop hit. And if Ba$$in is going to make its mark on non-Francophones, this video is going to do a lot of the work.
