Francois & the Atlas Mountains 'The Way to the Forest’ by Elliot Dear
Inspired by the family adventure films of the 80s and 90s, Elliot Dear has directed a thrilling video for Francois & the Atlas Mountains' The Way to the Forest. It's a cinematic fantasy of tiny forest ninjas (played by Francois and the band) protecting their home from two hapless and destructive hunters, complete with acrobatics, stunts, explosions. And then for good measure they even have to face the hunters' animals - a hawk and a dog.
Elliot - co-director of the award-winning Bear & the Hare ad for John Lewis - uses his in-depth understanding of animation and special effects in this well-crafted perfect marriage of live-action, VFX and stop-motion animation.
