Marius Gonzalez directs a moving&nbsp;promo for French hip hop artist Josman.&nbsp;The video for Intro is a collection several 'moving-image paintings', that aim&nbsp;to illustrate the emotions described throughout his piece. It's a vivid collaboration between Josman and Gonzalez - who also directed the rapper's&nbsp;video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/12/17/josman-un-zder-un-th%C3%A9-marius-gonzalez/56539" target="_blank">Un Zder, Un Thé</a>&nbsp;in 2018.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Unattached to the lyrics in the traditional sense, the video instead gives&nbsp;free rein to the interpretation and imagination of the viewer.Approached in a minimalistic way, the video echoes the loneliness, isolation and resilience in the track, and visualises these in an abstract way.&nbsp;

Edoard Le Scouarnec interprets Chalie Winston's pop-critique of technology's impact on human behaviour as a spiral of tech-chaos, in his imaginative video for Algorithm.As Winston sings 'I'll be your algorithm', a serene domestic scene between the singer and the female lead moving through a series of rotations, each one becoming more glitchy and broken. Winston's figure duplicates becoming a separate entity within this world, which repeats the same routine, and camera motion, with elements increasingly like a video game. Winston becomes omnipresent, but ignored by his partner. This increasingly busy setting is beset with disfunction.[imgtoken data:1]Le Scouarnec orchestrates the complicated choreography of the piece using motion control camera moves and elements of animation and VFX, to bring Winston's performance and the concept together with great skill."The idea here [was] to have Charlie incarnating the algorithm - so his girlfriend is in a relationship with the algorithm,"&nbsp;says&nbsp;Le Scouarnec. "I [did not] want to show any visual material linked to social media. To me the interesting angle was to show the negative of the algorithm through the prism&nbsp;of the couple."Her man seems to forsee her needs. But slowly it seems not that natural. He starts to blink subtly. I also want[ed] to show that the algorithm always gives us what we want, [but] it can lead to monotony and loss of bearings.[imgtoken data:2]"So the ideal life goes on... It is more and more monotone. Everyday life scenes are repeated. Charlie becomes more and more present. He duplicates himself in the shots. Until he takes more and more space. We can see the actors in the background performing the same dinner scene several times. They speak less and less..."Charlie is a witness of his own life scenes. Objects begin to flash, the frame is more and more saturated by the multiplicity of the scenes of the couple. Until the break of the song. In a glitch, everything disappears and is transposed to a full 3D universe where many Charlies are floating in the sky. We come back to reality when the woman is getting her head out of her phone."

Julien Soulier, Luc Van Haver, Coralie Barbier and Paul Van Haver - aka Stromae -&nbsp;join forces to create a striking one-shot promo for the Belgian superstar's latest release L'enfer.&nbsp;Starting with an extreme close-up of Stromae's eye, the video pulls out to reveal the artist in the middle of a boundless&nbsp;studio setting.&nbsp;The track is delivered in a neutral fashion during the verses, but when the chorus comes crashing in, Van Haver jumps into action, intermittently glitching and cavorting around the space unabashedly.&nbsp;

Karim Ansel explores the&nbsp;tortured, pernicious inner voice of Mowdee’s psyche, in his brilliant video for Je T'embête.&nbsp;We all have our own internal struggles between good and bad, and it can often feel like we are completely out of control of who takes the reigns. Mowdee is in the unfortunate position of having his doppelgänger&nbsp;appear&nbsp;as an all-too-real apparition, causing trouble and mini catastrophes&nbsp;around every corner.&nbsp;Initially embarrassed by his cheeky, menacing demeanour, Mowdee eventually comes round to his darker self, via several hilarious vignettes that take place across the course of a day.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;James Coote balances an authentic, real-life aesthetic with a handful of experimental angles, all shot on film to give it a grainy and raw texture. Ansel's direction jumps between understated and slapstick, providing the perfect platform for the ensuing drama, without going too overboard and silly.He also worked from a treatment/animatic that mapped out the narrative in great detail, as you can see from this entertaining&nbsp;<a href="https://vimeo.com/507442159" target="_blank">animatic vs final video</a> visual. &nbsp;

Marius Gonzalez provides further evidence of prodigious potential with this seethingly visceral video, where indie artist Joanna teams with actress Raika Hazanavicius to play a criminal pair whose seduction-strategy leads to murder.Layers of love, lust, jealousy pulsate through proceedings, as Joanna's mark falls under her spell, and triggers a mixed reaction from Raika, while guest artist Laylow, plays the demonic devilish character of the songtitle, prompting the couple into serious acts of Badness.&nbsp;Gonzalez's palette of stormy red, with rumbling sound design sets the scene, and his camera never stops moving, establishing a scenario where anything can happen.&nbsp;"The real starting point for the music video is Wong Kar-wai's Fallen Angels," says the director.&nbsp;"I'm a fan of the visual universe and especially this story of a criminal duo."

Animation collective Klub Simon - that&#39;s Vladimir Mavounia-Kouka, Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet, Dimitri Stankowicz and Thomas Pons - have created a mesmerizing video for Rone, riffing on the themes of science and space with their different styles.The team, who graduated together from Paris art and design school ENSAD, have conjured the video as an exquisite corpse, each member individually interpreting the track with certain common factors, including a central girl figure, and a shared pallette of primary colours.And they really do blend together very well indeed to visualize the bubbly beat of Rone&#39;s Origami. The Cowboy of Compton patrols the midnight streets in Julien + Adrien&#39;s clip for Caravan Palace.Whilst stories of crime and vigilante justice in California&#39;s Compton neighbourhoods are far from rare, especially within the context of a music video, Julien + Adrien manage a fresh take on the narrative. Quite possibly inspired by the real cowboys of Compton, as seen in <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBK64xVz20I">this report from the Associated Press</a>, there&#39;s certainly a romantic element to the concept of a vigilante on horseback sweeping criminals up by night. It sure beats Batman.With gorgeous day and night cinematography showing both criminals and crimefighters as masters of their domain, until the two intersect the clip manages to be subtle with a very grand idea.
