Sam Davis and Tom Andrew direct a technically impressive promo for&nbsp;Nemahsis, with creative direction from Crowns &amp; Owls.&nbsp;The video for Criminal sees the artist stood&nbsp;in the middle of a complex camera rig, with a menagerie of CCTV cameras trained on the platform, capturing her every movement.&nbsp;Cycling through a series of striking outfits and art direction elements, the video is seamlessly brought together by editor Steve Shaw,&nbsp;who&nbsp;funnels a huge amount of footage into a razor sharp cut, which brings out the frenetic emotion of the concept.&nbsp;

Ever since his marvellous video for Metronomy's The Bay, David Wilson has been able to make magic happen by the pool. And that's what happens in his video for Glass Animals' It's All So Incredibly Loud.GA's frontman Dave Bayley emerges through wisps of smoke to&nbsp;negotiate&nbsp;the diving board of a&nbsp;swimming pool in a suburban home at night. Yes, once again Wilson is making an English summer appear impossibly glamourous. He also&nbsp;brings us a heightened reality which&nbsp;almost seems nostalgic in its visual crispness.The intention&nbsp;is to capture a moment, and explore it's metaphorical meaning. Shot on both a Phantom and an Alexa, the time when Bayley inevitably enters the pool's water is stretched out to last as long as possible. Time is slowed, just as seems to happen&nbsp;when you dive into cold water - and also when you are faced with the emotional issues discussed in the song.Suitably Bayley also delivers a heartfelt performance to camera in this video that marks a triumphant return by David Wilson to the music video mainstream. A nod too to marvellous camerawork, supervised by DoP&nbsp;David Foulkes.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]

Rollo Jackson directs a mesmerising performance visual for newcomer Pa Salieu's Betty.&nbsp;Opening in an exterior location under a strangely-hued pink sky, the video&nbsp;is formed of dynamic performance setups, spectacular VFX work -including the artist atop several 3D body parts- and&nbsp;a lo-fi performance captured on an infrared camera.The lyrical content and visual concept are very much open to interpretation and deeper insight. Salieu wrote the track to explore both the vibrance and difficulty of black life, against the backdrop of perpetual violence and grief in his lived experiences, and these themes punctuate the video throughout.

Mika's San Remo is all upbeat sparking&nbsp;froth, about a Italian seaside town that was a popular destination for the beautiful people in the age of La Dolce Vita. But WIZ's video explores the flipside of that era, when homosexuality was illegal, and freedom of expression invited ruin.WIZ uses brilliant technique and economy of shots to tell the story of a man who is caught between desire and fear -&nbsp;and features an excellent&nbsp;performance from Mika himself in the main role.The use of a radio interview is crucial in establishing the scenario before we even here a note of the song. But when we do hear it, it becomes far more evocative and poignant as we already have some insight into Mika's character.&nbsp;&nbsp;WIZ has achieved this apparent alchemy before - transforming pop stars you may dismiss as being one-dimensional as intriguing, even heroic&nbsp;figures. But it does not make it any less remarkable when he does it. And this is a remarkable video - beautifully shot by Catherine Derry. It has a heart as big as San Remo itself.&nbsp;

Preparation for Dawn Shadforth&#39;s video for Fat White Family side project The Moonlandingz, featuring Rebecca Taylor from Slow Club, apparently&nbsp;involved lead singer Johnny Rocket (aka FWF&#39;s Lias Saoudi)&nbsp;staying up for five days before the shoot. Then he attached fried eggs to his nipples with clingfilm.His co-star Rebecca is not dressed quite as imaginatively, but looks like she&#39;s been up for a few days herself. She and Lias project a kind of uneasy chemistry that bring to mind Uma Thurman and John Travolta dancing to Chuck Berry in Pulp Fiction. If they had been&nbsp;in&nbsp;a Chinese restaurant cum karaoke bar in Dalston in the middle of a bender, that is.&nbsp;&nbsp;It was shot on film by esteemed DoP Robbie Ryan, who&#39;s recent feature work includes American Honey and I, Daniel Blake. But you just don&#39;t get to do this sort of thing working with&nbsp;Ken Loach.
