Julien &amp; Quentin send Stromae and Camila Cabello into the heart of a familiar-looking TV show, in their fun satire for Mon Amour - which poses the important question: is there a reality TV contestant in all of us?The video centres on a reality show where you have to be strategic, charismatic and seductive to reach the final - sound familiar?&nbsp;And what is really satisfying is that both Stromae and Camila have really gone all in in their roles, as part of a larger group of ten contestants.And none of the participants&nbsp;hesitate to use all their assets to reach their goals. Friendship, seduction and betrayal all bubble nicely along each other, and the unreal world of unscripted TV is reflected perfectly in the aesthetic and the contestants' personas. The whole thing feels wonderfully uncanny throughout - and finally tips entirely into the surreal.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;"We had a lot of fun working with Stromae and his entourage on this music video," says&nbsp;Julien Martorell - half of directing duo Julien &amp; Quentin. "It's very different from our usual work, and even though it took us out of our comfort zone, we loved concentrating on our cast, directing the actors and leaving room for improvisation.”Quentin Garabedian, the other half of the duo, adds that the video is also meant to test and propose new things. "The idea of reality TV seemed to us to be quite ideal to illustrate the song," he says.&nbsp;"The lightness of certain situations that are mixed with small dramas that take on a huge scale...we watched a lot of reality TV to immerse ourselves in that world. Quite an experience!"

He's joined by a giant teddy bear who becomes the buddy he desperately needs. And this bear definitely has his back.&nbsp;&nbsp;It's a fun ride, intercut with a charismatic performance, in which YUNGBLUD eventually cuts loose in characteristic fashion. That&nbsp;makes this a must for his mascara-wearing massive.

Raised in London, now resident in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Ama Lou continues to impress with her directing as well as her musical output with her latest video: the comic tale of a long-married husband and wife, struggling to keep the spark going between them. And they are both played by Ama Lou.&nbsp;&nbsp;The song We tried, We Tried&nbsp;is about the breakdown of a relationship, and the video follows the couple&nbsp;over the course of one busy evening - the action on screen directly emulating the lyrics.&nbsp;The comedy is fairly broad yet Ama's portrayal of the two characters&nbsp;- aided with some excellent prosthetic make-up - make&nbsp;them believable creations: the still-glamourous Wife is much keener to have some fun and excitment than her Husband, and that rings true.&nbsp;This is basically Eddie Murphy territory, and Ama Lou pulls it off.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Transatlantic soul star Ama Lou self-directs this easygoing performance video, a homesick tribute to North London shot in Los Angeles.The video comes almost a year after her debut EP, DDD, and an <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/07/09/ama-lou-ddd-ama-lou/53943">accompanying short film</a> shot by her sister, DoP Mahalia John. This was Lou’s California crime story, a bold triptych starring the singer as a new recruit in a desert crime ring.NORTHSIDE, in contrast, is a decidedly stripped-back affair, in which Lou communicates the relative simplicity of life in her native London: “The Northside is with me even in LA.” The video stars a host of friends and collaborators, including Taco from Odd Future and A$AP Nast.There is also a cameo appearance from a crumpled Sainsbury's carrier bag - an affectionate reference that will undoubtably mystify American viewers.

In this director&#39;s cut of Courtney Phillips&#39;s video for Dermot Kennedy, you get the full force of an absorbing story of courage and determination, set in the heart of Havana, Cuba.It&#39;s all about a girl boxer who wants to be the best - not just among her fellow females, but against the boys too. Her motivation is utterly believable - we see her homelife, where she and her younger sister have no mother figure to defend them against a father who oozes malevolence. She needs to somehow escape.This comes with the context of Cuba itself. It has&nbsp;that unique character that makes it so good on film - and it&#39;s never looked more richly atmospheric, thanks to brilliant work by the DoP&nbsp;David Procter. But the appraoch, combining drama and&nbsp;documentary, is also revealing about the true hardship&nbsp;under which people live. Havana may be beautiful, but as Phillips&#39; excellent video shows, it&#39;s also an extremely tough place.&nbsp;

And this was also was Lucy Rogers&#39; last video as producer at Partizan after a breathless couple of years. Lucy is now joining Atlantic Records to become a video commissioner working with Dan Curwin.
