Kali Uchis's new torch song Te Mata inspires a video that celebrates a bygone era of entertainment.
In Bethany Vargas's stylish video, the song's subject of a toxic affair is expressed through drama and performance, both evoking old TV formats and mid-century movies - scenes in the heightened style of a 50s melodrama or telenovella, intercut with a sultry performance, in the style of a 60s TV special.
A faithful rendition of vintage style - topped with an interview with the star in the makeup chair before it starts - with a hint of irreverence.
