"I'm a K-Pop fan, and I especially love what LISA has been doing in her solo era and how Blackpink (LISA's group) has helped pave the industry, so collaborating with LISA and her management team LLOUD on this was a really wonderful experience."At its core, it's a stripped-back performance, unlike anything LISA has done before. We let her performance play out in these dream-like gliding longer takes, allowing the song's emotion to shine through in her movement. We opted for two setups, the first being in a sort of loft-style band rehearsal space and then seamlessly transitioning into a stunning theatre stage performance. This helped keep the piece fresh and showcases LISA's fantastic performance in two striking settings."I couldn't have done this without my incredible LA team, who quickly put it together. Eoin Glaister's fourth video for&nbsp;Glass Animals is a bittersweet tale of friendship, even love - between an alien and a cow. And you don't get much more Eoin Glaister than that.In the video for Show Pony, a couple of mid 20th century-style space aliens crashland their flying saucer on Earth - in the countryside among placid, bovine local inhabitants. One of their number advances on the intruders with curiosity, and the female alien responds in kind - leading to surprising consequences.So prepare yourselves for unlikely, dysfunctional aliens, jokes about salted snacks, sudden violence, a big fire&nbsp;and a tragicomic twist - all set in a&nbsp;location among rolling hills and greenery resembling the Scottish Highlands, but was in fact, in Mexico.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;It's a beautifully crafted film, with wonderful attention to detail on production design, costume design&nbsp;and the style of cinematography by DoP Natasha Duursma which delivers a warm and nostalgic atmosphere around Glaister's story -&nbsp;a characteristically outlandish and charming silent comedy.The promo leans into the 70s theme aesthetics that is synonymous with the band and hinges on ingenious craft: tailormade alien costumes,&nbsp;prosthetics, miniatures, and, of course, the all-important wrangling of disobedient cows - provided via the production services of&nbsp;Stink Films Mexico.[imgtoken data:2]Glaister says that Glass Animals frontman Dave Bayley had an idea which started the ball rolling for Show Pony, which he then developed through the classic&nbsp;space alien archetype from 20th century pop culture to the addition of the unusual object of affection.His association with Glass Animals goes back a while: the videos for Pork Soda and Agnes in 2017. Then last year he resumed working with the band, directing the cleverly&nbsp;meta video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2023/09/20/glass-animals-other-side-paradise-eoin-glaister/83264" target="_blank">The Other Side Of Paradise</a> last year&nbsp;(although that song comes from&nbsp;the same album as the previous videos). And now comes Show Pony, from the band's new album I Love You So F***ing Much.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;“Dave had a personal story he wanted to play out through aliens - I ran with this and added a cow," says Glaister. "Naive really, given how hard they are to direct. We shot this in Mexico which was an incredible experience. Locations were stunning, crew were exceptional, cast ideal and the constant quesadillas spot on. Other than a run-in with the Mexican army and being extorted by the police, the shoot was a breeze.”

James Ogram directs&nbsp;an ambitious and expansive promo for London-based indie band Famous, ahead of their debut album.The video for What Are You Doing For The Rest Of Your Life is structured like a trailer for a road trip movie. Different vignettes play out, providing snapshots of character and story - written by Ogram with Famous frontman Jack Merritt -&nbsp;with a focus on the feeling of the scenes, rather than sticking to a strict narrative.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]“It was an unusual production,” explains Ogram. “The video itself was probably made over the course of about six months, whenever we could all get together. Jack and I would write new scenes, then we’d go out with Mike, our DP, our actors and capture more images that we felt continued to suggest this larger, ambiguous story."The video was shot by DoP Mike Pain on a limited amount of film stock. “So we had to be very sparing with what we captured," adds Ogram.&nbsp;"We’d probably spend a few hours preparing a set-up, to then turnover for about thirty seconds.”[imgtoken data:2]But focussing on an abstract, irregular structure has opened up the visual to some special moments. The performances by actors&nbsp;Billy Jacobson&nbsp;and Anais M are charismatic, taking viewers on a rollercoaster of emotions alongside these characters, and Ogram's skill at directing actors shines brightly throughout the video.&nbsp;

As their long-awaited new album ROMANCE is released, comes another&nbsp;remarkable Fontaines D.C. video - and another tour de force by Luna Carmoon.The director who made her music video debut with&nbsp;the intense drama of <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2024/08/08/fontaines-dc-heres-thing-luna-carmoon/87678" target="_blank">Here's The Thing</a> (after her acclaimed feature debut Hoard) quickly returns to duties with the Fontaines with an extraordinary piece of work for In A Modern World: a surreal comedy-drama, featuring an incredible central performance&nbsp;from Ewan Mitchell (House of the Dragon, Saltburn) - as a character engaged in the netherworld of a very niche, indeed bizarre and&nbsp;dangerous sport.&nbsp;It's car-jitsu - jiu-jitsu, within the interior&nbsp;of a car. Invented <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1f7r0cfaXc" target="_blank">just a couple of years ago, in Chicago</a>, Mitchell's character is the protagonist through which Carmoon explores an absurd yet compelling experience. At first, its just the raw, explosive physicality involved of clashing bodies within a ridiculously small space - which is surprising and hugely intense&nbsp;in itself.Then the director adds another dimension to the&nbsp;brutal clash of bodies - what is happening outside the car, the voyeuristic relationship of passers-by who become the audience to Mitchell and a succession of combatants, a kind of sexual frisson that is created through the intensity of the action. The parallels with another in-car activity is undeniable.&nbsp;It's&nbsp;Fight Club&nbsp;crossed&nbsp;with dogging.&nbsp;Horrible, painful to watch yet hilarous, it's mesmerizing stuff, a fever dream. And it's hard to undersell how good Mitchell is in this. Or how impressive it is in terms of the vision and world creation by Carmoon. Just great.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Adrian Lee and Palace frontman Leo Wyndham co-direct a powerful promo for Goodnight, Farewell, inspired by a heartbreaking event.&nbsp;The video takes an&nbsp;existential approach to the themes of new album Ultrasound, which revolve around loss, grievance and acceptance.&nbsp;Balancing a sense of abstract surrealism with emotional performances, the video cuts between stock footage and live action to visualise the lyrics of the track, in a tender yet cinematic way. Wyndham's own vocal performance of Goodnight, Farewell in striking exterior locations is counterpointed by a dramatic element with a woman (played by Clara Rugaard) in a dark room, watching in anguish at images of a lost child.Leo Wyndham explains, after his partner suffered a late miscarriage, that "I felt a hollowness and emptiness for a long time when it happened." The film, combining a perspective that's&nbsp;both intimate and universal, aims to reflect that difficult period, and coming through it.&nbsp;“It’s saying goodbye to this life-changing year, saying goodbye to former versions of ourselves and what would have been a child as well.
