Amy Allen is stalked by an unknown aggressor in Similar But Different's video for Difficult.&nbsp;Channelling a paranormal, retro-horror aesthetic, the directing duo - Charlotte Fassler and Dani Girdwood - set the scene using an isolated desert location, mysterious in its own right with an overbearing sense of mystery.&nbsp;We follow Amy as she is watched by a shadowy figure and chased by a reckless driver, only to discover she’s trapped in a repeating loop of her own making. The video’s visuals echo the song’s lyrics and Amy’s battle with herself.The mysterious and dynamic video is complimented by its clever use of surveillance footage and nature documentary clips adding an additional layer to the visual metaphor. The duo used production restraints to their advantage, creating a rawness felt onscreen through Amy’s dramatic, dynamic and energetic performance.&nbsp;

Cliqua and Stillz direct a hyperactive, colour-drenched visual in Yokohama, Japan, for Bad Bunny's Bichiyal.&nbsp;Exploring drag-racing culture in Japan, the video focuses on a female racer going about her daily routine, preparing to face-off against a ruthless male rival.&nbsp;The vibrance of Tokyo seeps down into the small port town in which this was filmed, creating a contrasting gritty yet pop-culture vibe, very suited to the enigmatic Bad Bunny.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Chris Ripley takes a frenetic approach to the camerawork, filming in a handheld documentary style for most of the visual, whilst utilising a few action film-style whips and pans for the climactic ending.&nbsp;

Nick Roney's first video since the UKMVA-winning video for Cayucas' Girl&nbsp;tells the story of Chipper, a mechanical squirrel pop star, years after his novelty has worn off,&nbsp;who has one remaining adoring fan.In his video for Real Estate's Paper Cup, the innocent, bright-eyed lad turns up into the sleazy games emporium, to see his beloved Chipper perform - who turns out to be a grinning Disney-esque robot, with the essence of something human deep within.&nbsp;But he has become&nbsp;like&nbsp;a monster in a carnival sideshow, badly in disrepair, on the point of collapse&nbsp;- and the lad is about to be stripped of his innocence.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In this director's cut, Roney's black comedy on the&nbsp;life after pop stardom is particularly&nbsp;unsettling, with elements of classic&nbsp;grand guignol&nbsp;horror. It's a departure from the videos for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/02/14/lemon-twigs-i-wanna-prove-you-nick-roney/46130" target="_blank">The Lemon Twigs</a> and Cayucas where Roney and members of his family have played important roles - sometimes for laughs, and sometimes not. But like in all good horror, there is also a sense of something rooted in the personal going on here. And once seen, it stays with you.

This marvellous video begins on the face of a ticking analogue clock, and from that point Henry Kaplan plays with the idea of passing time, in this compelling video for Charly Bliss.There's certainly a nod to the invention of OK Go here, as Kaplan uses different frame-rates to make&nbsp;the camera a part of a performance that evolves into performance art, becoming&nbsp;increasingly frenetic and intense. Day passes into night, and then day again, all happening in the same, unremarkable open&nbsp;field.Dreamlike, in a way that is actually like your dreams.

In Pavel Brenner&#39;s delightful video for Yumi Zoumi, it&#39;s Date Night in suburbia. And when a young man arrives at this girlfriend&#39;s suburban house, the parents are away, and he&#39;s about to be quietly stunned by surprising performance.Appropriately enough&nbsp;for a song called In Camera, it&#39;s the craftsmanship and beauty of everything on screen that really makes this special.&nbsp;The cinematography by Chris Ripley is pristine, the location is almost breathtakingly Lynchian. And there&#39;s a chemistry between the actors, Charlie Patton and Shawn Denegre-Vaught, which makes this operate in a very enjoyable area between deadpan humour and erotic promise.&nbsp;And to top it all off.... there&#39;s synchonised swimming. What more could you possibly want?&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Xan also walks woozily around a house party a la Mean Streets,&nbsp;a gas station and the aisles of a convenience store.Towards the end of the clip, a group of masked figures begin marching around the abandoned car, which suddenly bursts into flames.
