Samuel Douek touches upon the&nbsp;pressures of fame and heartbreak in his promo for Galantis, featuring Little Mix and David Guetta.&nbsp;The video for Heartbreak Anthem is backdropped against a sci-fi burlesque world, and evokes&nbsp;a message of self-acceptance and self-love, intertwined in a high-concept, cinematic idea.&nbsp;The performance-focused visual&nbsp;is complemented by gorgeous styling and makeup, much like Douek's promo for Little Mix's&nbsp;<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/05/12/little-mix-ft-saweetie-confetti-samuel-douek/70832">Confetti</a>, released just under a month ago.&nbsp;The glitchy, futuristic aesthetic contemporises the traditional shapes and silhouettes of the burlesque world, and elevates the bold, vibrant direction of Little Mix's new era.&nbsp;

Samuel Douek presents a "love letter to London nightlife" in this visual tour de force for Little Mix's Confetti.&nbsp;This is the band's first release as a three-piece since the departure of Jesy Nelson, and shows the artists launched into&nbsp;a dance off between&nbsp;themselves and their male alter-egos.The project was very personal to Douek, and includes&nbsp;dancers and party starters from his personal circle, as well as icons from the latest Drag Race UK series – Bimini, Tayce and A’Whora.&nbsp;At six minutes in length, the video is no doubt a major event in the pop sphere, and is paired with top-notch cinematography and creative perfection across the board, from styling to costumes to art direction.It's great work to launch the next chapter of the Little Mix&nbsp;story, a great precursor to their win at last night's Brit Awards (May 11th) winning Best British Group, for a record breaking third time - and making an inspirational&nbsp;acceptance speech to boot - and certainly&nbsp;a big step forward in Samuel Douek's development as an exciting new Brirtish pop video director.[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

Pip + Lib direct a poignant promo exploring the breakdown of a friendship, for Mathilda Homer's Rock Bottom.&nbsp;As the artist rides in the backseat of a car cruising down forest roads, there is an air of awkwardness as none of the characters talk to each other. There is the suggestion of a fight, or an undiscussed rut keeping them from connecting.&nbsp;Interweaving portrait style shots of Homer, with abstract vignettes of the three characters, it's a breezy visual with plenty of backstory to imagine and uncover... and some very decent fire effects at the end.&nbsp;

Samuel Douek sculpts&nbsp;an atmospheric documentation of love in bloom, in his promo for Karl Benjamin's Moon.&nbsp;Focused purely on performance, the film features the singer-songwriter and his&nbsp;real life love Natty, who is also the subject of the song.&nbsp;The cinematography boasts a heightened aesthetic, elevating the breezy composition and camera movement with pops of vibrant colour and lighting effects. And the stylised greenhouse location is a refreshing and unique backdrop for the concept, which intertwines themes of nature and organic love.&nbsp;"This song represents the journey of a relationship -&nbsp;the progress that two people can make, together rather than apart," explains Benjamin. "Moon, to me, is about the adventure you go through, to finally arrive at the most intimate moment within the relationship you treasure most.“I wrote the track about the most important person in my life.&nbsp;Naturally, when working on bringing the video together with Sam, I wanted to include that person. I’m not a fan of fake video love. You can always feel when it’s not genuine. I wanted the video to be as real as the song and its lyrics are to me.”

The threat of conflict hangs over a young girl's head, in Paola Kudacki's affecting promo for Waiting On A War - her second video for Foo Fighters.&nbsp;Drawing parallels between intergenerational fears of war and destruction, the video opens with a teenage girl - played by&nbsp;Thalia Gerloff - pacing about a desolate wasteland, isolated and broken.&nbsp;Intercutting nostalgic memories of carefree times, the concept builds to a riotous crescendo, with the younger generation fighting back against outdated institutions and ideals.&nbsp;It's a striking piece, anchored by gloomy, haunting cinematography and an overarching expectation of disaster. Pip + Lib explore mental health and the stigma of speaking out, in their touching visual for HYYTS.&nbsp;In a nondescript pub,&nbsp;inhabited by a handful of regulars and an increasingly angsty bartender,&nbsp;karaoke night is in full swing. Adam from HYYTS is next up on-stage, singing&nbsp;along to barely readable lyrics on an old&nbsp;computer monitor.&nbsp;The&nbsp;poignant performance is in striking contrast&nbsp;to the emotionless audience, who represent a society that&nbsp;still very much believe&nbsp;in the idea of keeping a&nbsp;stiff upper lip&nbsp;and hiding any emotion.&nbsp;It's a beautifully minimalist piece, enhanced by the everyday, universal setting, and the Glaswegian pop duo's ability to visualise a whirlwind of emotion&nbsp;in a single glance or dance move. Emanating a sense of freedom and acceptance, the pair's interaction and support throughout the performance is refreshing and highly relevant, resulting in an unforgettably powerful concept.&nbsp;"We're really proud of the video we've made for SOS and even more proud to have debuted it on @brothersinarmsscotland," comment HYYTS. Pip + Lib explore the monotony of life in their impressive visual for singer-songwriter Karl Benjamin.The directing duo's video captures Benjamin&nbsp;at home, stuck in a type of stasis - sitting, staring, occasionally dancing in a room, and thinking...&nbsp;Inside this (metaphorical)&nbsp;prison with regard to his surroundings, the artist stares back at his doppelganger inside the TV, creating an endless loop of consuming and watching, but taking no action to get out of his&nbsp;situation.You need not have spent months in lockdown to find this situation relatable, but it probably helps. Although in fact, Karl Benjamin has commented that the song is all about breaking out of a rut. “To me, Apricot Sky&nbsp;is the realisation that someone, or even something, around you can change your life almost completely."DoP&nbsp;Murren Tullett contrasts subtle camera movement with static, fly-on-the-wall shots, creating an almost serene aesthetic which is endlessly comforting, but full of haunting undertones.&nbsp;

Sammy Rawal's feelgood video for Armand Van Helden &amp; Riva Starr's Step It Up&nbsp;tells the tale of a roller skater&nbsp;who multiplies into hundreds of identical clones as she skates blissfully amidst aqua blue skies.Opening with the character floating above the camera, weightlessly gliding through the air, the concept experiments with playful visual effects, resulting in a kaleidoscopic storm of chaos.&nbsp;As the ever-increasing clones of skater Olivia Brownell&nbsp;start to dance in surreal unison, DoP&nbsp;Michael Leblanc's perpetually moving camera adds to the effect.&nbsp;The track’s vocalist Sharlene Hector also makes an appearance, singing along to her soaring vocals, in a video which combines live action and VFX in a way that&nbsp;pays homage to dance&nbsp;videos of the Nineties and Noughties, whilst looking forward with a fresh perspective.&nbsp;

Chris Saunders celebrates a decade of Little Dragon in the video for Where You Belong.&nbsp;Utilising over ten years of documentation, shot by the band and filmmaker Pether Lindgren, the footage was collected and curated over a two month period, and edited during the restrictions of lockdown.&nbsp;Spanning a multitude of memories and snapshots of everyday moments, the visual is interweaved with a new live performance, that was remotely directed by Saunders.&nbsp;The edit style is high-energy and colourful, layering footage in quirky and unique ways. A spattering of lo-fi VFX and rotoscoping creates an artistic and abstract aesthetic, that works perfectly within the celebratory concept. It's intended to feel fragmented, as if within the mind's eye of the band members, and takes us through a visceral replay of Little Dragon's story and memories.

Denai Moore descends into a wonderfully warped, highly stylised world in Samuel Douek's fantastical&nbsp;vision for the singer's Cascades.&nbsp;The track is based on Moore's troubled, troubling worldview:&nbsp;she sings about literally getting engulfed in sadness and depression, the sonic background shifting from optimistic to ominous, ending in a haunting, slowed-down acapella outro. At the same time, in the video her surreal, Alice-like adventure, encountering a cast of colourful characters after she luminously-lit car, gets darker. She is looking to find her way out of this dystopian maze.
